It's been a while...

So it's been a while since I sat down and wrote. Reason being that Jeremy is in school and the computer is upstairs instead of in the living room....and I'm lazy.

So Jeremy's spending the next 2 months at school in Ft Lee.  He's home on the weekends though so it's really not so bad. Honestly, it's not much different because he works so much during the week.  So he can't help Mikey with his homework, and he can't kiss the kids good night, and I get more sleep (lack of snoring helps) but that's about it.  Not saying that I like him being gone, but it's not that bad.

I had a fun trip to the ER last weekend.  My back was hurting so bad - it felt like I was being beaten by a sledge hammer.  So they injected some numbing stuff directly into a muscle, and then injected painkillers and anti-spasm stuff.  Hurt like a bitch, but my back was much better for a few days.  Makes me wonder if I should try accupuncture.  I've had it done on one muscle before back when I was 19 and it wasn't bad.  It's got to be better than an insane ammount of medicine right.

I'm still doing OK in the weight loss department.  I'm down 5lbs which is a little dissapointing, but it's still something, and a step in the right direction. It's a lifestyle change not an instant fix, so I'm going to stick to it. As for the fiber plan, turns out I wasn't following directions right and when he says Milk of Magnesia is your best friend to avoid gas lock and pain, he's not kidding.  I was getting a bit down about it not working like I had imagined....but directions help. Again, it's a lifestyle change and these things take time.  Yes, I had imagined going to Florida 30lbs lighter and everyone being amazed....it's not going to happen.  But who cares. As long as I'm getting healthy right.

Maybe I should get a jumprope and a Zumba DVD.....

Oh, yesterday we took the kids to an ARCA race at Rockingham.  You all know how I love NASCAR and this track is a thing of beauty.  It's like stepping a few decades into the past to where racing used to be.  My heroes were legends at this track. It lost the big races almost 10 years ago and people are still bitter about it, but it's awesome to see that grassroots racing is still alive. Mia loved it - we had to leave a little early because it was getting too loud for Mia (My ears are still ringing a day later), but she was chatting away about the race all day. Step one of my plan to groom Mia into being NASCAR's Danica Patrick is complete.

I have a few things to look forward to this week.  That would be Friday where I'm meeting up with some AWF girls.  It's about time I meet some more people! And Friday night Jeremy should be home.
